Home Instead Ballsbridge has continued its support for the Ataxia Foundation of Ireland by making a donation to this crucial voluntary body which helps people living with Freidrich’s Ataxia.
The AFI was founded “by members, for members”, and strives to make a real difference to people’s lives.
“No one in AFI gets paid, AFI receives no funding from the HSE, we have no office and have been operating this way for two years and we are totally dependent on donations, and our donors and volunteers who have been so kind to us, without
them, we wouldn’t exist,” it says.
Home Instead’s donation was handed over by Ballsbridge client Redmond O’Hanlon,
pictured below, who lives with Ataxia and has supported the AFI for years.
Redmond has done parachute jumps to raise funds for the foundation and also highlighted their cause, when he spoke at a national conference on care in 2019. Visit AFI.ie
