Home Instead Senior Care Monaghan has announced the line-up for its Confidence to Care dementia workshop on September 17th.
Family carers who are looking after loved ones living with dementia can get support from experts in the field at the workshop, which will be held at Carrickmacross Workhouse on Shercock Road.
The event opens at 5.30pm with refreshments and music from the Carrickmacross Church Choir, and the first speaker starts at 6.15pm.
Maeve Montgomery from the Alzheimer Society of Ireland will give a talk on supports and services available to the local community.
Mairead O’Connell, Senior Occupational Therapist in Carrickmacross, will discuss the technology that is available to help when dealing with Alzheimer’s.
And Charlotte Reilly, Owner of Home Instead Meath / Cavan will present on Home Instead Senior Care and the valuable services it delivers to local communities.
“We hope that our workshop will help people understand the causes and management of Alzheimer’s and dementia, and ultimately play a part in eliminating the stigma around the condition,” says Dermot Bolger, Managing Director of Home Instead in Louth and Monaghan.
