Home Instead Senior Care has opened a local office in Roscommon town, bringing 30 new jobs and enhanced care services to local communities all over the county.

The company is run by Managing Director Oliver McBride, a 43-year-old father-of-three who is married to Elaine. Oliver has a passion for caregiving and was delighted to open a new base on Abbey Street in Roscommon town.

“We’re delighted to open our local office in Roscommon town. We started in this region in September 2016, while Home Instead itself has been in existence since 1994, having been formed in the US by a husband and wife team.

“We already have a strong and growing client base in Roscommon, and due to increased demand, we felt it was important to formally establish a presence here, so that we can be closer to our clients and their families. We try to provide care which allows the older person to stay in their home and support the older person and the family,” Oliver adds.

Home Instead Senior Care has a relationship with the HSE and is on the executive’s 2018 tender. The company provides a wide range of care services to older people, ranging from companionship, light housekeeping and meal preparation to more complex care needs, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

Quality Assessments

“We also provide private care, and in situations where there may be a shortfall in care available to families we can come into the home and provide the required level of care,” Oliver added.

Home Instead carries out regular Quality Assessments and all CAREGivers are provided with training to aid their continuing development.

The opening of the new office will create job opportunities for local people and Home Instead offers competitive pay and a range of excellent benefits.

Home Instead General Manager, Jodie Molloy, is 39 years old and married to Yvonne and the couple have two children.

Like Oliver, he believes more and more people want to be cared for in their own home, surrounded by family and loved ones.

“We do additional work for other areas of the HSE such as physical and sensory and intellectual disabilities…and what we’re finding is more and more people want to live at home.

“The majority of work we do is in people’s homes but we also do a variety of work for other agencies such as the Brothers of Charity here in Roscommon and Inspire, just to name two,” he said.

Oliver added: “We’re more than an agency because we provide a complete service and we have care managers who go in and firstly review the situation to see what’s needed and provide a suitable CAREGiver and return to monitor the situation. We offer a bespoke care package for each individual client. Each individual client is different and we need to factor that into the care plan.”
