Home Instead Senior Care put the kettle on yesterday in support of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland (ASI) by hosting a Tea Day at their National Office and other local offices around the country.
The ASI is a national non-profit organisation that works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of people living with dementia.
The event was part of a nationwide fundraiser organised by the ASI, aimed at raising €500,000 towards supporting people living with dementia.
The Home Instead team welcomed staff from local offices for a cup of tea and a chat, with participants donating money towards the ASI or buying raffle tickets.
Here in Ireland, about 55,000 people are currently living with some form of dementia, and that figure is expected to increase dramatically in the years ahead.
