: Thelma Mansfield, the legendary face of RTÉ TV, was shining bright this week as she was announced as ambassador for the annual Marigold Festival. Run by Active Retirement Ireland (ARI) and sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care, the event in Sutton celebrates healthy and active ageing through sports, social events and professional activities. The Marigold festival promotes a positive approach to ageing, which Home Instead Senior Care values highly.
Thelma Mansfield, who was one of the most recognisable faces on RTÉ television for over 30 years, is an artist of note producing stunning painting of seascapes and landscapes. She keeps active every day, and knows the value of active ageing. Speaking about her role as ambassador for this year’s festival Thelma Mansfield said: “I am thrilled to partner with ARI and Home Instead Senior Care working with the Marigold Festival this year.”
She continued: “This event in Sutton today provides a platform for people to show that getting older can be a very positive time of your life – and we need so much more of that! Whatever your interests might be; taking up a new past time or sporting activity, or spending more time with friends and loved ones, these events help to show older people the many benefits of staying active, both in mind and body.”
