The Irish Franchise Association has announced that the largest ever number of entries received for this year’s Franchise Awards has been reduced to a list of finalists from which the overall winner in thirteen categories will be chosen. The Irish Franchise Awards celebrate 20 years this year and it is one of the longest running business award ceremonies in Ireland. The awards recognise excellence in franchising and reward outstanding achievements of businesses and individuals in the franchise industry. The judging panel for the 2015 Irish Franchise Awards include Newstalk Business Presenter and former Irish Dragon Bobby Kerr; Orla Nugent, Director Executive MBA, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School; Greg Swift, head of enterprise at Dublin Local Enterprise Office; Michael Bradley, former CEO of the Irish Franchise Association and Paul Cooke, CEO of the Sunday Business Post.
The awards categories represent both retail and service industries across thirteen categories. Finalists include Eddie Rockets, Supermacs, The Zipyard, Tax Assist, Home Instead, Kendlebell, Chem-Dry, Sásta, Techcare, Rockets, thebestof, Right at Home, Energie, Fastway Couriers Ireland, Jymka, Snap, O’Brien’s Sandwich Bars, Butler’s Chocolate Café, Apache Pizza, Esquires, McDonald’s and Card Connection.
The awards will be presented at a formal black-tie awards ceremony at The Clyde Court Hotel in Ballsbridge on Friday March 27th 2015. The ceremony is anticipated to be an impressive business event reflecting the strength of the franchise sector over the last two decades. David Killeen, Chairman of the Irish Franchise Association said “The awards are an opportunity for us to formally acknowledge the excellent work being done by all franchise practitioners in growing the sector, consolidating existing businesses and contributing significant new sustainable jobs.
