A Message from Home Instead Senior Care: Protect Older and Vulnerable People in the Community

Dec 10, 2014
Last night Prime Time revealed incidents of abuse towards residents of a care home in Co. Mayo. As a home care provider, we have a vested interest in enhancing the lives of older people and vulnerable individuals in the community. Abuse and poor standards of care should not be tolerated and we are saddened to see how residents living with severe intellectually disabilities were treated by those who were entrusted to provide them with care.

Our professional CAREGivers were particularly saddened to see the shocking behaviour of individuals in the caring profession. They dedicate their lives to helping older people live a happy, healthy and independent life at home and the extremely uncaring behaviour of certain individuals in Aras Attracta is the complete opposite of the professional and trusted care they provide.

Residential and home care providers across the country have condemned the treatment of residents in Aras Attracta. For more information on last night’s programme visit the HSE website and RTE news

If you are looking for information on Home Instead CAREGivers, the services they provide and their level of training please visit our website. We are actively recruiting CAREGivers throughout the country and welcome applicants from people looking to make a difference in the lives of older people.
