Over 130 Home Instead CAREGivers
have graduated in Community & Health Services – FETAC Level 5 Award at an awards ceremony held in Irish Times Training in Dublin.
As the social care industry is evolving so too is the demand for qualified and suitably trained care staff. Home Instead Senior Care
, Ireland’s leading provider of home care continues to meet this challenge head on by encouraging and supporting its Professional CAREGivers to achieve the Community & Services – FETAC Level 5 Award.
Irish Times Training and Frontline Training Services specialise in the creation of high quality content to deliver training to carers. This course seeks to change human behaviour and ensure carers all reach the same level of competence regardless of their previous education and background. Learners who have completed the full award in Community and Health Services have an in-depth knowledge of care of older people, people with disabilities and infection prevention and control. In addition, they must demonstrate competence in a range of practical skills to support activities of daily living.
Alison Moran, Home Instead Senior Care
Graduate said, “I really enjoyed the course and learned a lot from it. It incorporates both theory and practical learning including legislation so it can be applied to your role everyday. It consisted of 8 modules - Care of the Older Person, Care Provision & Practice, Practical Homecare Skills, Infection Control, Equality & Disability, Nursing, Communication and Work Experience and the Major Award was in Community & Health Services. I would encourage all CAREGivers to complete this course. It not only adds even more value to the quality of care from Home Instead Senior Care but it also supports personal development goals.”
Frankie O’Sullivan, Owner at Frontline Training Services sad, "It has been a wonderful experience working with the CAREGivers at Home Instead and I am very proud to see so many learners completing this full award. Home Instead are serious about good care and that is evident when you meet their hardworking Care Managers and CAREGivers. These are the most difficult and challenging times to be providing social care services and it’s so important that we can acknowledge the services that meet that challenge and continue to provide high quality care to vulnerable people".
Karl Schutte, Owner of Home Instead Senior Care
in Ballsbridge said, “This innovative programme has trained and prepared our CAREGivers to further enhance the high quality of professional care they provide to clients. Home Instead
CAREGivers are Professionals - they are rigorously recruited, garda-vetted, insured and trained to FETAC Level 5. I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to all the graduates who have been awarded the Community & Health - FETAC Level 5. By taking the opportunity to advance their senior care careers they have demonstrated 100% their commitment to their CAREGiving roles. The training is compliant with all national legislation and standards and should reassure Home Instead clients that only the best possible quality of care is being provided.”
