Dolores O’Toole from Greystones, has been named national finalist in the Home Instead Caregiver of the Year Awards. The national award ceremony takes place in the Gibson Hotel on 8th October and recognises caregivers throughout the country who show exceptional dedication in caring for older people.
Dolores joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2008 and cares for three seniors in the local community. She is described as a kind and gentle individual with both professional and personal caregiving experience. “For Dolores caregiving is more than a job, it is a vocation. She always provides care that is beyond the call of duty and has made a real difference in the lives of older people in the local community. She cares for strangers like they are her own family,” said David Healy, Managing Director of Home Instead Senior Care in Leopardstown.
Dolores is very popular with her clients and their families. One of her clients son from Sandycove has credited Dolores with making his mother feel safe and secure in her own home. “Dolores is a remarkable carer who shows genuine kindness, attentiveness, physical, emotional and spiritual support with whom my mother feels safe, secure and cared for. She has become like a member of our family and her sense of humour and the joy she radiates in my mother’s home is so appreciated by all our family”.
