Loved One with Dementia is Embarrassed to Go Out in Public
Sep 09, 2014

If your loved one feels embarrassed about going out in public because they have a dementia consider the below tips to help you support them.

  • Go out with your loved one so you can be there to help them if you see they’re forgetting something.
  • Say the name of the person who is greeting them before they get embarrassed for forgetting.
  • If there is a particular activity they like to do, take them to that environment just so they can be surrounded with it. For example, if your father loved to golf, take him to a driving range or golf course to watch the other golfers.
