The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Mr Dermot Ahern, TD, officially opened the new Home Instead Senior Care office in Drogheda serving counties Louth and Meath, at a reception held recently (Thursday, 23 July, 2009) in the D Hotel, Drogheda. " The care of senior citizens is so important in any civilised society. It is an area which demands the highest quality of care and service. Home Instead Senior Care have been able to meet those demands", he said.
Husband and wife team, Mike Rigney and Dr. Natalie Cole, own and operate the new Home Instead office which is part of the world’s leading provider of non-medical, in-home services to seniors. Since opening for business last May the company has taken on 30 CAREGivers and that figure is set to rise to between 100 and 150 over the next twelve months..
Speaking at the official opening, Ms Patricia Rooney, President of the Drogheda Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the opening of the new Home Instead Senior Care to the area and commended the owners for creating employment opportunities in the area. "We believe, in the chamber, that it is a much needed service and over time it will become one of the stalwart services in the locality" she stated.
Home Instead Senior Care provides services to seniors in their own homes, in a retirement facility or even a nursing home and is approved by the HSE. Its CAREGivers help clients maintain their independence by assisting them with activities of daily living such as meal preparation, laundry, shopping, light housekeeping, incidental transportation, personal care and advanced homecare assistance. The result is peace of mind and independence, allowing seniors to feel safe while they age in the home they've lived in for years.
“Our high quality services inject a little extra energy and a little more convenience to life in order to provide peace of mind to our seniors and to allow them to stay at home for longer than would otherwise be possible. We can do this with short shifts, from one to two hours, right up to 24/7 around the clock care. All our CAREGIvers are fully trained, insured, Garda checked and above all dedicated to Home Instead Senior Care's mission to change the face of ageing one client at a time,” said owner Mike Rigney.
